Dublin Elementary released the names of its Little Lion Leaders on Friday, Oct. 23. They were: Leon Vasquez, Arely Cerda, Selah McCullough, Alexander Caldera; Stetson Teague, Kinlea Fincannon, Ezequiel Garcia, Ximena Mendoza, Charlotte Meador and Madden Landers.

Daughters of the Republic of Texas

On November 3, we celebrate the birthday of Stephen F. Austin, “The Father of Texas.” Remembering his birthday provides a time to reflect on the life of our founder and the importance of his contributions to Texas history, and ultimately U.S history.

Corps honors Brass

The Tarleton Texan Corps of Cadets hosted its annual Corps Brass Awarding Ceremony on Oct. 19. The ceremony recognizes the hard work, dedication and commitment of “ducks,” freshman cadets entering the corps, and notes their becoming full ARC 168 members of the corps family.

Thurber Center hosts Trunk or Treat

Tarleton State University’s W.K. Gordon Center for the Industrial History of Texas in Thurber is hosting its Fourth Annual Halloween trunk or treat at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31. Admission is free, costumes are encouraged, and the event is suitable for all ages.

Halloween fun set this weekend

The Dublin Chamber of Commerce is getting the community into the Halloween and fall spirit with several activities staged for the weekend of Oct. 31 including safe trick or treat, a drive-in circus at the Dublin City Park and a youth rodeo on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

Community members gathered Thursday at the Stephenville Cross Timbers Family Services office for an open house. Guests purchased auction items and BBQ cooked by Fat Mary’s Catering with proceeds benefitting CTFS’ efforts of providing hope, help and healing for victims of violent crime.

Early voting in the Nov. 3 general election is now underway, bringing several local, state and federal races for Dublin and Lingleville voters to decide upon. As of Tuesday morning, a total of 9,664 Erath voters have cast their ballots in person with 8,294 in Stephenville and 1,370 in Dublin.

 The Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council (CTFAC) invites the public to come experience the “vivid and vibrant”  eclectic artwork of Hill Country artist Grady Newton on display through October 31st at the River North Gallery, located at 204 River North Blvd in Stephenville.
