Dublin lifters test mettle

The Dublin guys took top honors at the Sidney Invitational Powerlifting meet Thursday while the girls took third place as a team.

Dublin Powerlifting Coach Greg Hardcastle said that the kids performed well with “lots of improvement.” All lifters present improved on their totals from the Early meet the week before.

First place individual honors went to:

■ Lisandro Ortiz in the 123 weight class with a total of 745 pounds

■ Arnoldo Moreno in the boys 132 with 850 pounds

■ Luis Odronez in the 181 with 1,085 pounds

■ Mosiah Lolohea in the boys 242 with 1,325 pounds

■ Victor Juarez in the boys 275 with 1,330 pounds

■ Daisy Almazan in the girls 97 with 425 pounds

■ Priscilla Perez in the girls 198 with 600 pounds

■ Celeste Alvarez in the girls 220 with 890 pounds

■ Emilee Beam in the girls 181 with 600 pounds

Second place finishes went to:

■ Mackenzie Taff in the girls 123 with 410 pounds

■ Brianna Guthrie in the girls 148 with 565 pounds

■ Carly White in the girls 165 with 690 pounds

Third place finishes were claimed by:

■ Michael Stanley in the boys 220 with 1,285 pounds

■ Madison Turley in the girls 148 with 535 pounds

■ Mia Jaimes in the girls 165 with 645 pounds

Lucero Marquez also got fourth in the girls 105 with a total lift of 460 pounds while Yosselyn Sanchez got seventh in the girls 132 with a total lift of 460 pounds.
