Poinsettia and Christmas Tree Care The holiday season is upon us and a very popular house plant seen in homes and offices is the Poinsettia. The Poinsettia is a native plant of Mexico which was introduced to the United States in 1825 by Joel Roberts Poinsett.

Dublin FFA places 5th at state

The Dublin FFA Public Relations team of Nicole Foster, NavaLee White, and Bailey Watson placed 5th at the State Leadership Development Event competition at Sam Houston State University last week. The finish placed them in the top 1% in the State in Leadership Development Event team participants!

Dublin Businesses and organizations made spirits bright despite some rainy weather Saturday, Dec. 7 as families gathered to greet Santa, The Dandi-Lion Drill Team, Miss Dublin’s court and more. 

Christmas contest to be judged Dec. 18

Those interested in this year’s home and business Christmas Lighting Contest only have a week left to spruce up their homes and yards for the Light Up the Night contest. The event is co-sponsored by The Dublin Citizen, The Dublin Chamber of Commerce and Revitalize Dublin.

Kids enjoy cookies and coloring at the counter at Dublin’s Doublin’ In downtown while waiting for their turn to tell Santa Claus their Christmas wishes following the Chamber of Commerce lighted parade Saturday, Dec. 7. Kids were also invited to write their letters to Santa while they waited.
