DISD to get new roofs

Dublin ISD will soon undergo a major renovation project as all roofs throughout the district will be replaced.The school board unanimously approved awarding the district’s hail damage roof repair project to Coryell Roofing and Construction, Inc.

The Sound of Dublin performs ‘Shattered’ at the district contest Saturday, Oct. 18 at Art Briles Stadium. The band received a Division 1 and will advance to the UIL Area B 3A Marching contest at 3:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at the C.H. Collins Athletic Complex in Denton.

The Dublin City Council discussed incentives to draw businesses, city programs, re-zoning and the airport in a busy meeting Monday night.The discussion of business incentives was spurred by Interim City Manager Cameron Ray and Councilmember Bo Kabala.

Museum Matters

Jake Hamon the great railroad and oilman, funded the creation of Dublin’s third railroad. After much work and negotiation, the first passenger train arrived in Dublin on the Jake Hamon railroad known as the Wichita Falls, Ranger and Fort Worth in 1920. That would all change with his death.

Cowboy Fest 2025 set SaturdayCowboy Fest 2025 will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Stephenville City Park. The free event will include carriage rides, vendors, guest speakers, live music and prayer tents.
