When Larry Jones was growing up in Dublin in the 1950s, he dreamed of flying. He’d build model aircraft from templates on cereal boxes, and stand outside on his parents’ farm and watch the planes fly over. Jones was able to achieve his dream, serving as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam.

Veterans draped in honors

Dublin Historical Museum’s back room was filled with a sea of reverent observers as two veterans were honored in a Quilt of Valor Ceremony Thursday night in honor of Veterans Day. The hour-long event ended with special patriotic quilts being presented to Craig Washam, Jr. and Mark Hall.

Gobble Wobble offers free fun

Dublin’s Little Authors is inviting local families to the Corner Lot for a free morning of fun during the inaugural Gobble Wobble. Activities and games will run from 10 a.m.

Citizen printing early

Next week’s edition of the Dublin Citizen will be printed a day early in preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday. Subscribers should expect to receive their copies on Wednesday while new copies will be in racks Tuesday afternoon.
