On Thursday, the Dublin FFA Leadership Development teams competed at the Tarleton State invitational contest. Dublin FFA was represented by 30 students in 16 events. Results were as follows: Radio Broadcasting •2nd place Joli St. Germain, Maggie Rollins & Grace Luedke.

Turkey Time It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is only a few weeks away. This is such a wonderful time for families to come together and visit, cook and eat. I usually prefer beef, but I certainly do like turkey on thanksgiving.

Brass Ceremony Saturday

The Tarleton Texan Corps of Cadets will host its annual Corps Brass Awarding Ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Memorial Stadium.

Donations sought for Shop with a Cop

Dublin PD and all of Erath’s law agencies are asking the community to help them bring Christmas to kids in need during the second annual Shop with a Cop program Dublin Police Chief Cameron Ray reported that the program has increased the amount being spent on every child from $150 to $200.

Hico News Review After more than 50 years of serving the local community, West Henry Feed Store is closing its doors to the public. The store has been owned by the Lawson family, who also own the adjacent Lawson Implement Co. and used the feed store for the set up of new equipment.

100 Years Ago Nov. 11, 1921 R.S. Landers, the owner of the Cole Drug Company bought the Sweet Shop from W.A. Hickey and planned to consolidate the two businesses.

POLICE LOG

October 25 A caller reported someone on Hurt Street had moved and left their dogs behind. October 26 Dublin PD was notified that two electrical lines were touching in the 200 block of E. Harris Street. A reporting person notified Dublin PD of loose dogs on N. Norton Street tearing up items.

SHERIFF'S REPORT

October 30 At 3:32 p.m. a hay baler and field were reported on fire on Vanderhorst dairy on Hwy 281 South which took a little over an hour to put out. At 8;54 p.m. a two-vehicle accident on Hwy 377 South disabled both vehicles, which included a pregnant woman. October 31 At 11:06 a.m.
