ASU honors locals

Several locals were named as Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas, announced the students achieving the Dean’s List designation for the 2021 fall semester. To be eligible for the ASU Dean’s List, full-time undergraduate students must maintain a 3.25 or better grade point average on a 4.

100 years ago Jan. 6, 1922 Drilling began again on the Sides Well No. 1, three miles southeast of DeLeon. Some gas had been found at about the level where the drill stood. The well was down 2, 660 feet on a formation of black lime.

Free SKYWARN class set Jan. 13

The 2022 severe weather season is not too far away, and the National Weather Service and local public safety officials want you to be ready. The National Weather Service will be conducting a free severe weather training class for Erath County on Thursday January 13th, 2022, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

December 20 Dublin PD was informed of an aggressive dog at the City Park. A caller reported a man in black camouflage trying to break into storage buildings on S. Park Street. Stephenville PD alerted Dublin PD to a reckless driver headed towards Dublin on Highway 377.

December 18 At 2:32 a.m. four Hood County deputies were in pursuit of a red Chevy Equinox doing 130 mph through Tolar on Hwy 377. The vehicle passed Graham Street doing 100 to 110, wrecked on West Frey and the occupants were seen running eastbound on foot on Overhill towards the high school.
