CASA seeking volunteers

CASA for the Cross Timbers Area (CTA) is calling for community members to step up and advocate for children and families involved in the child welfare system throughout the CASA CTA service area. CASA CTA serves the children and families of Bosque, Eastland, Erath, and Hamilton counties.

The surveyors of the Texas Central Railroad came through the Dublin area in 1879 and started laying out the path for the new railroad. By 1881 the first trains started coming through with mail runs in both directions as early as June 1st of that year. Work had also started on W. T.

Hamilton Herald-News On Jan. 3, Steve and Kerri Watson completed the sale of Watson’s Farm and Ranch Store to Mark and Sabrina Sellers. The store is located on the east side of Hamilton on Highway 36 and has been in the Watson family for 54 years.

January 3 A Reporting Person called for a welfare check on a dog on N. Grafton that was tied up with a a chain. The responding officer ensured the dog had shelter, food and water. A caller reported a man kicked in a door on S. Park, yelled and ran away.

SHERIFF’S REPORT

January 7 At 11:18 a.m. a grass fire broke out on Hwy 6 East starting from a heat lamp and endangered multiple structures before being put out. At 9:26 p.m. everyone managed to get out of a one-story house fire on CR 128 which started in the garage and spread rapidly to the house. At 10:22 p.m.
