The first liquor store in Erath County, Discount Liquor, officially opened last month following last year’s election in which Erath County voters approved consistent rules of selling liquor throughout the county.

Dublin and the surrounding area are urged to exercise caution as winter weather rolled in Wednesday night (Feb.2) and temperatures are expected to stay below freezing into Friday. As of press time, meteorologist Dan Henry predicted .20-.33” of ice and one to two inches of snow/sleet.

Brandi Hoffman is starting her second month as a School Resource Officer with Dublin PD, but she’s no stranger to the job or the people she serves. The officer originally moved to Lingleville from Southern California 12 years ago with a friend and she “just stayed.

Filing is underway for three city and three school elections to be held in Dublin during the May 7 general election. Deadline to file is Feb. 18 by 5 p.m. On the school side, the positions held by Pat Leatherwood, Anjelica Salyer and Bob Cervetto are up for election.
