Eggs sought for Easter event

Dublin Dairy Queen, Chamber of Commerce Calvary Fellowship and several other community businesses, organizations and volunteers have joined together to organize an Easter Egg Hunt on April 15 at the Dublin City Park from 10 a.m. to noon.

Genealogy meeting rescheduled

Erath County Genealogical Society rescheduled it’s February meeting. Emily Martin Howle will speak at the Dublin Public Library at 2 p.m. this Saturday (March 19).

Master Naturalists to meet March 12

Forest bathing will be the topic of monthly walk presented by the Prairie Oaks Master Naturalists at the Bosque River Nature Center on Saturday, March 12, 10 a.m. Don’t be mislead by the topic, long pants and closed shoes are recommended. All ages are welcome.

Knights continue Fish Fry

The Stephenville Knights of Columbus continue their annual Lenten Fish Fry this Friday at Newman Hall. The weekly event will run from 5-7 p.m. Fridays thru April 8. The meal will consist of fish, coleslaw, hushpuppies, french fries, tea, and dessert. Prices this year are $15 on all orders.

Our roundhouse must have been made of wood, since carpenters arrived here and tore it down in a matter of days. Though the roundhouse was removed, the turntable stayed until 1954. (Part 2) On November 21, 1920, Jake Hamon, the rich oil man, railroad tycoon and politician was shot upstairs in the Randol Hotel while talking to his girlfriend. Jake, reeling in pain, came downstairs and collapsed in the dining room. He said that he was cleaning his gun when it went off.
