Council talks EMS demo & depot

The Dublin City Council discussed the demolition of the old EMS building and renovations to the Train Depot in Monday’s meeting, which also included several introductions.

Gallagher takes place 2 on council

Many may be familiar with Orion Gallagher for a number of reasons including his community service spirit or acting as a leprechaun at many city events. As of Monday, he can add serving as Place 2 council member to his resume.

McInroe takes place 4 on council

Keegan McInroe may be fairly new to Dublin but his Irish roots and family history have given him a spirit of community service. Graduating high school in 2001 in Lubbock, McInroe graduated from Texas Christian University in 2005 with a degree in religion and philosophy.

Fireworks on despite burn ban

Erath County’s burn ban is continuing and fireworks can be sold and used after discussion at the Monday, June 13 Commissioners Court meeting.

Faulkner remembered for service

Dublin lost a volunteer with a servant’s heart when Charles Faulkner died June 4 in Houston. Faulkner was the owner of F&F Floor Super Store, a member of the Highland Missionary Baptist Church and a former president of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.

Sales tax slightly up

Dublin sales tax collections were slightly up, at 3.4%, in April, compared to April 2021, according to the June state sales tax report released by Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar this month. This followed strong March collections as sales tax reports were up about 20% last month as well.
