The Dublin Lions took to the Stephenville High School diamond Monday, March 26 to face the Eastland Mavericks.The game was given a change of venue as the Dublin field was too wet following the weekend and Monday rains.“We were rockin’ and rollin’,” said head Lions baseball coach Corde Morris.

Lucky Vines to host hunt

Lucky Vines Vineyard and Brewery will be hosting an Easter Egg hunt from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30. Four hunts will happen every 30 minutes at noon, 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. The hunt is open to all kids.

Rainy day runners gather for Goodfellows

A total of 70 runners hit the starting line for the annual Shamrock Shuffle 5k Saturday, March 16 despite the early start and forecasted rain.Titan Fitness sponsors the annual event, picking a worthy local cause to receive the proceeds from the event.

Dublin High School lifters Mariana Ortiz and Cassidy Adair ended their season at state competition in the Comerica Center in Frisco on Thursday, March 14.Ortiz took top honors for her weight class in 3A, scoring astatetrophyandascholarship for her performance.

GOOD. Water stained; 60 degrees; 8.68 feet below pool. Black bass to 12.49 pounds are good on jerkbaits, chatterbaits and crankbaits in 3-8 feet. Bass are in a prespawn and starting to get on beds. Crappie are fair using minnows on brush piles in 6-10 feet and starting to move shallow.

Lions learning from loss

The Dublin Lions baseball boys were working on fundamentals this week following a 22-4 loss to Millsap Wednesday, March 13.Alex Teten, Zak Loper and Aaron Rodriguez each took a turn on the pitcher’s mound but Dublin couldn’t get a good momentum going against the opposition.
