Boys lift Gold at home

The Dublin powerlifting boys took gold as they hosted 20 schools and hundreds of lifters in the annual Dublin Invitational Powerlifting Meet Saturday. The Dublin girls also had a strong showing taking third as a team.

Lions honored for gains

Dave Campbell’s Texas Football has given the 2021-22 Dublin Lions squad more ink and another distinction when they named them one of the most improved UIL Texas High School Football Teams. The honor came in a Jan. 20 article posted to texasfootball.

Dublin Lions and Lady Lions were busy last week battling Brock and Bangs. The Dublin Lions slew the Bangs Dragons 70-46 in an away game Friday, rallying after a loss to Brock on Jan. 18. “Everyone played well and we kept it simple with our up tempo game, said Lions Coach Wes Grisham.

The Dublin powerlifting teams took the gold at the Sidney Powerlifting Meet on Jan. 13. On the boys side Michael Stanley was named the best overall lifter after lifting a total of 1355 pounds (500 in squat, 375 in bench, 480 in dead lift).
