The Stephenville Area Elks Lodge hosted its annual Youth Fishing Day at Proctor Lake Saturday, Oct. 11. The event included help from Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens Travis Allen, Brad Reeves, Michael Hummert, Kirt Hornsby, Richard Whitt and Zach Moerby.

Veteran dies after driving into home

A fatality wreck occurred when a vehicle drove into a home in the 800 block of Blackjack Thursday, Oct. 9.A variety of emergency services responded to the crash when a vehicle driven by Marcus Allen Burleson, 44, left the roadway and drove into a home owned by the Zinck family.

The following first responder calls were made Oct. 6– Oct. 12. Local first responders handled 93 calls during this timeframe and PD completed 22 traffic stops.Dublin PD Oct. 6There was a vehicle crash in the 500 block of West Mesquite and a gas line was hit. There were no injuries.

Early Voting starts Monday

Early voting for the Nov. 4 Constitutional Amendments and Stephenville Mayoral Race will kick off Monday, Oct. 20.Those who wish to cast their votes early can do so at only one location in Erath County – at the new Erath County Annex located at 222 East College Street in Stephenville.
