Dublin ISD offers free meals

Dublin ISD has announced that it will once again provide summer meals for free from June 1-June 29 through assistance by the Texas Department of Agriculture. The meals are available to kids 18 and younger or enrolled students up to 21 with disabilities.

City Pool opens Saturday

The Dublin community is invited to a day of free fun and food at the Dublin City Pool’s grand opening on Saturday, May 29. All admittance will be free at the pool from noon to 5 p.m. that day and free hot dogs will be served up by members of the Dublin Rotary Club.

Tarleton joins ECUW in grant-funded project

Tarleton State University has joined forces with Erath County United Way to help county agencies and organizations address crucial community needs. The project, Erath County Community Bridges, is funded by a $599,562 grant from Texas Health Resources.

Tarleton names first women’s soccer coach

Two-time Division I Conference Coach of the Year and NCAA Tournament head coach Pete Cuadrado has been selected as the first women’s soccer head coach at Tarleton State University, announced Friday by Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lonn Reisman.

The Erath County Grand Jury returned 12 indictments on May 13.

May 14 At 2:32 p.m. a multiple vehicle accident occurred on Hwy 377 South with several people injured and one rushed to the ER. May 15 At 9:28 p.m. a vehicle was totalled after hitting a cow on FM 3025, no injuries. May 16 At 2:35 a.m.

POLICE LOG

May 10 A report was made for an individual who came into the coffee shop twice and seemed out of it on Blackjack. Reporting person was in the station to request more patrol by Big’s Gas station because kids cross the highway to get home from school.

Weldon announces retirement

After wearing a uniform for almost four decades, retired U.S. Air Force Col. Kenny Weldon bids farewell this month as Commandant of the Texan Corps of Cadets and Dean of Tarleton State University’s Leadership and Military College.
