January 11 Dublin PD was informed that the high winds were blowing trash cans and trash into a neighbor’s yard in the 500 block of E. Live Oak. January 12 A reporting person advised Dublin PD of seven stray dogs busting a water line and tearing up chairs in the 500 block of S. Park.

Filing open in City, DISD races

Filing is underway for three city and three school elections to be held in Dublin during the May 7 general election. Deadline to file is Feb. 18 by 5 p.m. On the school side, the positions held by Pat Leatherwood, Anjelica Salyer and Bob Cervetto are up for election.

Dublin High School students got to step into the pilot’s seat Thursday as the aviation trailer from Fort Knox, Kentucky was parked out front and running eight demo stations including flight deck and gunner simulations, some utilizing virtual reality headsets.

Erath County reports 147 active COVID cases on Jan. 19

Erath County Emergency Management Coordinator Cyndi Smith reported 686 new cases and 147 active cases of COVID-19 in Erath County in the most recent report released Wednesday (Jan. 19) and reflecting the period of Jan. 10-Jan. 17.
