Riders had a difficult time staying upright during the Hispanic Heritage Festival rodeo Saturday night at the Dublin City Park Arena. This is due to some feisty bulls and broncs provided by Cody McClinton, Chino Rodriguez and Branden Brown of Whitney.

Erath man arrested after reported abuse

Erath County Sheriff’s Office reported that Arran James Spoede, 46, of Stephenville was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 29 for Possession or Promotion of Child Pornography, a third Degree Felony. Erath County Sheriff’s Investigators were notified on Sept. 13 of an outcry of sexual abuse.

In a two-hour meeting, the Dublin Economic Development Corporation met with a positive agenda: to reimburse and give more than $59,000 in grants for community, home and commercial improvements.

Voter registration deadline Oct. 11

October 11 is the deadline to register to vote in the November 8 General Elections. To vote in an election you must be registered to vote at least 30 days before the election date.

Scarecrow contest now underway Dublin Public Library is inviting the community to join in the fall spirit with a Build Your Own Scarecrow contest benefitting the local library. The cost is $50 for businesses and $25 for residents to enter. Deadline to register is Oct.

Thursday Club begins 125th year

A special anniversary is approaching for the Dublin Woman’s Thursday Club as they begin their new year and enter 125 years as a service organization. Though its 125th birthday is not until November, the club kicked off its 125th year and the new year with a meeting Saturday, Sept.
