Valerie Stephen is facing off against Niki McInroe-Cognburn in the Republican Primary Runoff for Tax Assessor Collector in the Tuesday, May 28 election.If elected, she wants to make sure the taxpayers are effectively taken care of and work to modernize the office.

The city of Dublin in conjunction with Waste Connections held its annual city-wide clean up event Saturday, May 11. During the event 38 tons of trash was collected (2 trash trucks and 5 roll offs) and 1.9 tons of metal (2 roll offs full).

April 29A reporting person advised her disabled son has been missing since last Thursday. Officer made contact with the son’s friend in Stephenville that he works with. Everything was OK and he will follow up with the caller.

Summer Reading Club kickoff Saturday

The Dublin Public Library will be hosting its kickoff event for Summer Reading Club at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 18 with a ribbon cutting and open house to showcase the newly renovated interior, funded by Tocker Foundation, the city of Dublin and STAR Council.

The Dublin Woman’s Thursday Club gathered for their last meeting of the 202324 study cycle Thursday, May 9. Rain threatened as members arrived just ahead of heavy rain and brief hail.The First Methodist Church welcomed the ladies for this meeting.
