800 tires hit the road

The city of Dublin got things rolling early Saturday, May 3 in its tire disposal event at the public works yard as residents brought old tires by the trailer load and filled up the provided container within the first two hours. More than 800 junk tires were gathered and removed from the city.

Currys cater to community clothes

Darrell Curry said the opening of the Suds & More Laundromat was another step in continuing his family’s legacy.“My grandmother (Esta Sarringer) had one and I always thought it was cool,” he said. Curry remembered helping count quarters at the Laundromat located by Ivie’s 7-11 when he was young.

A family of mustached runners starts the annual Cinco de Mayo 5K and fun run benefitting the Erath County Humane Society. The annual event showcased a pet costume contest and vendors along with both a 5K and 1-mile fun run for both pets and humans alike. About $6,000 was raised in the event.
