2021 Love Run 5K

More than 50 runners competed in the rescheduled Love Run 5K and Fun Run Saturday. Proceeds from the event go towards Transformation Pathway and its ministries as a Christian Women’s/Men’s Job Corps, providing classes and training to help those it benefits with valuable job and life skills.

Dubliners lift at Regionals

Dublin’s Celeste Alvarez lifted a state ticket as her teammates also showed strength during the Region 2, Division 3 Powerlifting Meet held at Dublin Secondary School Saturday. Alvarez claimed the top spot in the 220 weight class by lifting a combined 910 pounds.

The Dublin Lions were crowned Area Champions for the first time since 2012 (the third time in 20 years) before ending their season Friday night in Cisco at the Regional Quarterfinals against Peaster.

The Lingleville Cardinals claimed the Regional Quarterfinal Championship Saturday in 42-38 victory over Cherokee at Brownwood High School. “We knew it was going to be a really tough game,” said Lingleville Head Basketball Coach Steven Bailey.

The Area Champion Lingleville Lady Cardinals ended their season in a 46-44 loss to Iredell for the Regional Quarterfinals Championship title. “My girls had an amazing season,” said Lingleville Lady Cardinal Head Coach Ty Johnston.
