XC runners compete at Regionals

Managing Editor Dublin Cross Country Runner Yesenia Osoria finished 61 out of 189 runners at the Region I Cross Country Championships on Tuesday. She completed with a time of 14:03.

That places Osoria in the top 32% on “one of the toughest courses in the toughest region” according to head cross country coach Wes Grisham.

“She started out smooth getting in front of the big group before the first big hill slows everyone down,” Grisham reported. “After that, she ran her hardest over some grueling inclines and passed a few more runners at the end and left all she had in Lubbock.”

“Coach Perez and myself couldn’t be prouder of her and all her hard work. A model student in the classroom and a model athlete to lead the young lady lions back to higher status next year!”
