LISD adopts calendar

The Lingleville ISD School Board adopted the 2025-26 school year calendar in the Thursday, April 10 regular meeting.

LISD superintendent DeeCee McDougal reported staff input was sought on the calendar and the model approved by the board reflected what was most requested.

The calendar includes 163 days for students and 173 days for teachers with students returning on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025 and ending the school year Thursday, May 21, 2026 with early release at 1 p.m. Graduation will be Friday, May 22, 2026.

Spring break is slated for the week of March 16-20, 2026 and students will get some extra time as the preceding Friday (March 13, 2026) is set as a staff development day.

The Christmas break begins on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025 with early release with students returning from the holiday Monday, Jan. 12, 2026.

Other holidays include: Aug. 15 (another staff development day on Aug. 18 will make a 4-day weekend for students), Sept. 1, Oct. 13, Oct. 27, the final full week of November, Jan. 19, 2026, Feb. 13, 2026, and Feb. 16, 2026, April 3, 2026 and Fridays in May.

Bad Weather Days are included on April 6, 2026 and May 18, 2026.

STAAR and End of Course testing will be conducted Dec. 2 – Dec. 12 and April 7-30, 2026.
