The Dublin Lions basketball boys leapt into the season with an 81-76 away win over the Brownwood Lions on Nov. 14.
“It was an intense game with a playoff atmosphere and a great way to start off the year,” said head Lions basketball coach Wes Grisham. “We handled pressure well and made some good decisions in a fast pace game.”
Grisham said the visiting team faced some issues with fouls but the Dublin Lions used the adversity as a learning experience and “stepped up when they needed to.”
The battle went all the way into the final seconds when Dublin used “special situations” to claim the win.
Kaden Gaitan led Dublin in scoring with 24 points followed by Aidan Hernandez with 20. Hunter Jones contributed 15. Kyson Gilman put in for 9 points.
Dane Lewis scored 5 and Carson Ivie and Alex Teten, each got 4.
