The Dublin Lions won one and had several close matches at the Brady Basketball Tournament Dec. 12-14.
“Our guys came together during the tournament and gelled with good team chemistry,” said head Dublin head boys basketball coach Wes Grisham. “We had some guys step up and take the leadership role and learned about our strengths and weaknesses. I think it helped prepare us for district opponents Peaster and Comanche coming up this week.”
Dublin’s tourney play started with a fiercely fought 69-61 loss to Grape Creek before rallying to beat Abilene Cooper JV 70-49 in game 2.
The Dublin boys then had close losses to Eldorado (47-69), Brady (67-40) and Water Valley ( 56- 51).
“Every game was close despite the scores,” said Grisham. “We had to gamble a little and enhanced our basketball IQ.”
This tournament appearance followed a tight 55-53 loss to Hico Tuesday, Dec. 10.
