The Dublin Lions were 1-2 last week in the DeLeon baseball tournament.
The Lions faced losses to DeLeon (13-5) and Abilene Christian (7-6) on Thursday for the beginning of the tournament.
Head Lions baseball coach Brennan Harris reported strong plays by Dalan Rasberry, who had a three-run homer and Cooper Pickett, who got to the bases six times in two games.
“An error and walks led to our one run loss to Abilene Christian,” said Harris.
The Dublin boys got retribution on Saturday as they bested Huckabay 10-3.
“Kaden Gaitan pitched the complete game and dominated,” Harris said. “Defense was led by Jonathan Campos at 3rd and Cesar Caldera at short stop who both made several plays” Fernando Esparza had four runs batted in to help the score.
This tournament appearance followed a 14-6 loss to Bangs.
Harris said that Zak Loper pitched great on the mound but a few errors and hits to the infield led to a Bangs lead.
Cameron Patton and Kaden Gaitan had 2 hits each for the Lions.
