The Dublin Lady Lions narrowly dropped a Friday, Dec. 13 home game to Millsap 38-37.
“We hustled against Millsap,” said Dublin head girls basketball coach Kim Perez. “We came out hot and lost it second half.” Dublin led 22-17 at the half but Millsap rallied following the break.
“Our defense looked great,” Perez said in praising her team. “We stopped shooting in the 4th and it hurt us.”
Olivia Salyer led Dublin scoring with 15 followed by Emma Vargas with 7. Haden Keilers and Adriana Stewart had 6 each while NavaLee netted 3.
This battle followed a 43-25 loss to Tolar Dec. 10. Coach Perez said she was proud of her girls’ effort and defensive game, noting that they held the best Tolar player to 8 points.
The coach said the game was ultimately decided by the Tolar grabbing quick rebounds for extra points. White and Vargas led with 7 points each followed by Salyer and Wendy Calderon with 4. Haden Keilers also scored 3.
