The Dublin Lady Lions claimed a victory and held their own against a stat-ranked team last week.
The Dublin girls bested Bangs 42-36 Saturday.
“We came out slow the first half and picked up our intensity to finish it out,” said head Lady Lions girls basketball coach Kim Perez. “We are working hard to prove a statement.”
Gabby Herrera led scoring with 12 followed by NavaLee White and Libby Turner with nine each.
On Nov. 8, they faced Huckabay, who Perez reported was ranked second in 1A for the state.
“We held Huckabay 17-7 at half time,” said Perez, who was proud of her team’s defense. “We came out cold in the 3rd quarter and couldn’t gain the momentum back.”
White led the Dublin scoring with 12.
