The Dublin Lady Lions kicked off the 2023-24 season Friday, Nov. 3 when they traveled to Jacksboro to face the Tigers. The game resulted in a 53-18 win for the home team.
“We were getting stops on defense, but it wasn’t enough,” said head girls basketball coach Kim Perez. “They had a great shooting day and we did not. We are rebuilding this year. Once it comes together, good things will happen.”
Olivia Salyer led Dublin in scoring with six points. Adriana Stewart scored 5 points and 4 rebounds. NavaLee White had 3 points and 6 rebounds. Emma Vargas snagged an impressive 3 point buzzer beater and 5 rebounds. Adriana Rosalez had 1 point and 8 rebounds. Derby Kukla led in rebounds with 22 This game followed scrimmages against Hico on Oct. 28 and Oct. 31 respectively. Dublin won against Hico but faced issues facing Cross Plains. “We did some good things, but couldn’t get in the right gear,” Perez said of the Oct. 31 game.
