The Dublin Lady Lions split wins last week, starting with a 47-28 triumph over Walnut Springs.
Leading the Dublin victory were Olivia Salyer and Adriana Stewart with 11 points each. Derby Kukla followed adding 8 points. Bayli Jackson put in 6 points, Regan Vanbebber had 4 points. Brittney Everett, Ismari Molina and Regan Vanbebber each added 2 points while Makayla Hernandez had 1.
The Lady Lions followed this with a 21-68 loss to Tolar at home Friday, Dec. 12.
Head girls basketball coach Waylon Salinas said Dublin was slow to start but started making ground in the third quarter. “We just have to keep our composure and be confident from the start,” said Salinas. “We are looking to turn it around against Millsap and keep it going against Peaster. We’ve got to believe in each other and that we can get it done. We’ve seen what this team can do when they are firing on all cylinders. We just have to tap into that mindset and never look back.”
Kukla had 6 points. Stewart and Jackson each added 5. Salyer put up 3 and Chacon had 2.
