The Dublin Lady Lions moved to 1-7 in district after scrapping with Comanche and Breckenridge last week.
Comanche
The week began with a five-set nailbiter home game against Comanche. “These girls started off really slow losing the first two sets to Comanche 16-25,17-25 and then came back and won the third 25-18, won the fourth 26-24 and lost the fifth 10-15,” said Dublin’s head volleyball coach Arin Knight.
“The girls played spectacularly and came back after losing two sets and tried to finish it out,” she continued. “We fought hard in the last set and were just unable to finish out the last few points that we needed to win. Each girl hustled hard and went after everything. I’m very, very proud of these girls.”
Dublin players got some impressive stats with Knight calling out Chloe Cisneros saying “this girl killed it” with her three kills and 27 digs.
Also keeping Dublin in the game were:
■ Bailey Watson- 5 blocks
■ Jaclyn Gibson-6 blocks, 5 kills, 2 digs
■ Madilyn Loper-1 block, 6 kills, 9 digs
■ Madison Turley- 2 kills, 2 digs
■ Summer Anderson-2 kills, 9 digs
■ Chloey Rollins- 2 kills, 3 digs
■ Karlie White- 4 kills, 2 digs
■ Libby Turner- 7 digs,
■ Paige Wilson- 1 dig Breckenridge
The Lady Lions ended the week traveling to Breckenridge to take on the Buckaroos. The Lady Lions were held by the home team, falling in three sets.
The Dublin ladies scored 6, 14 and 12 in those sets against Breckenridge’s 25s.
