The Dublin Lady Lions went 1-3 in the Dec. 26-28 Texas Bank Holiday Classic in Brownwood.

Head Dublin girls basketball coach Kim Perez admitted Day 1 was long as the Dublin ladies squared off against Gorman and Goldthwaite, garnering 67-12 and 52-29 losses respectively.

In the Gorman match-up, NavaLee White scored 4, Olivia Salyer and Adriana Rosalez each put in 3 and Haden Keilers had 2.

Perez said the Lady Lions got their legs under them against Goldthwaite. White led again with 13. Emma Vargas scored 6, and Layla Salas and Salyer each scored 3. Rosalez and Adriana Stewart each put in 2.

The Lady Lions rebounded into a 35-28 win against Bangs where White and Salyer led Dublin scoring with 10 points each. Stewart had 7, Salas had 6, and Vargas had 2.

The Lady Lions ended with a strong showing against Santo, which was back and forth.

“It was great game,” said Perez. “We hustled the whole time.”

Perez said Dublin’s loss was due in part to not getting the stops they needed in quarter 4. White and Stewart led Dublin scoring with 11 each. Salyer also put in 10, Keilers had 9, Salas scored 7, and Vargas had 2.
