The Dublin Lady Lions had their shields up as their battle against the Bangs Dragons went five sets deep in the Aug. 27 away game.

Bangs fought the lionesses to claim 25-19 and 25-17 wins in the first and second set but Dublin roared back in the third and fourth with 27-25 and 25-23 triumphs. Spectators saw the war rage on until the very end as Dublin put up 13 points and Bangs 15 to close out the game.

The Lady Lions returned home Aug. 29 and 31 as Dublin hosted its volleyball tournament.

“We saw a lot of improvement on positive communication with [facing] each team,” said head Dublin volleyball coach Lauryn Risinger.

Risinger also added the tournament was an overall success due to the support it received. “I want to thank everyone that helped out last weekend,” she said. “We could not have done it without the Dublin Athletic Booster Club’s support!”

The Dublin JV team fell to Bangs in two sets (25-19 and 25-17) while the freshman team lost 2-1 (Sets 1 and 3 went to Bangs 25-15 and 15-10 while Dublin took the second 25-21).
