The Dublin Lady Lions continued to show their strength as they played through the district schedule last week, facing Brock and Early.

On Tuesday, Jan. 16, they traveled to Brock in an 85-17 loss.

Head Lady Lion basketball coach Kim Perez reported the team “played with six and it was tough.” This shallow bench was due to half the team being sick.

Freshman Anna Sawyer led scoring for Dublin with 6 followed by Sydney Master and Emma Vargas who had 4 each. Derby Kukla scored 3.

The Lady Lions returned home on Friday, Jan. 20 to take on Early.

“I feel like we played them with much more intensity this go around,” offered Perez. “Once again we couldn’t seem to get our shots to fall when we needed it. Although this isn’t how we wanted our season to be going, the Lady Lions are learning how strong they are and how to face adversity together.”

This battle ended 47-35 in Early’s favor.

Olivia Salyer led scoring with 10 followed by Kukla and Vargas who had 8 each. Adrian Stewart scored 5, Ingrid Hernandez scored 2 and Wendy Calderon had 1.
