Ladies start season

The Lady Lions volleyball team started into their preseason last week with a home match against the Hamilton Lady Bulldogs and made an appearance in the Albany tournament.

The Lady Lions hosted Hamilton Tuesday, Aug. 8 in a 3-0 defeat for the home team which still showed a few fiery moments in frantic back and forth volleys.

As the sets ended, Dublin scored 8, 11 and 16 to Hamilton’s 25s, showing fight that lasted til the final fight that lasted until the final buzzer sounded.

Albany

The Lady Lions started off the Albany tournament on the right foot Thursday, Aug. 10 with a 2-1 victory over the Eastland Lady Mavericks but had to concede to Abilene Wylie in their second bout.

They returned to fierce competition in Albany on Saturday, Aug. 12 as they fell to Snyder High School and Abilene Christian Academy.

The Lady Lions were headed to Mineral Wells Tuesday night before traveling to the Hamilton Tournament on Thursday, Aug. 17 and Saturday, Aug. 19.

Dublin will be hosting several schools next week during varsity and JV volleyball tournaments, Aug. 24-26. As of press time, 12 varsity teams were set to play as were 10 JV and nine freshman teams.
