Ladies lock horns with Early

The Dublin Lady Lions were in close competition on Friday, Dec. 15 as they got edged out by the Lady Longhorns at Early 48- 37.

Adriana Stewart led scoring in the game with 9 points followed by Madison Turley and Derby Kukla, who each scored 8. Olivia Salyer and Adriana Rosalez each had 7.

This followed a tough 90-21 loss to Brock at home on Dec. 12.

“We started out with some great energy and defense,” said head Lady Lions basketball coach Kim Perez. Brock was up by the end of the first and extended that lead in the second..

“Their #15 hit four 3 [pointers] in a row and we got frustrated,” Perez admitted. “They were shooting lights out in the second half.”

Still, the game provided a lesson for the Lady Lions, and Perez said they are learning how to play together and stick together for all four quarters of play.

Adriana Stewart led scoring in the Brock game with 8 points followed by Olivia Salyer with 5.

Ingrid Hernandez scored 4, Sydney Master had 2 and Madison Turley and Emma Vargas scored 1 each.
