Ladies bounce back v. Breck

Dublin Lady Lions turned a slow opening against Breckenridge into a highscoring second half victory Tuesday, Jan. 28.

The home win started with 5 points for Dublin in the first half while the visitors scored 19.

“Definitely the slowest first half,” admitted head Dublin girls basketball coach Kim Perez. “We came out and scored 11 in the 3rd and 17 in the 4th.”

“They had several players foul out and we fought until the end,” said Perez.

Haden Keilers led Dublin scoring with 10. Olivia Salyer had 9. Emma Vargas had 7. Ingrid Hernandez and NavaLee White each had 3, and Adriana Stewart had 1.

The Lady Lions then traveled to Eastland Jan. 31 where they fell 56-30 after a hard fight “We shut [their] number one down but [their] number 23 got the hot hand [and scored 25 points],” said Perez. Olivia Salyer led Dublin with 10, Stewart had 7. White scored 6. Keilers had 4. Derby Kukla had 2, and Wendy Calderon had 1.
