Fishing Report

Body

GOOD. Water stained; 86 degrees; 3.12 feet below pool. Black bass are fair with catches up to 6.42 pounds on Hag’s cyclone craw in Ramsey’s Revenge on the ledges, shaky heads off the rocks and brush piles in 6-20 feet around the mid lake to upper end. Crappie are slow around docks with brush on minnows in 12-18 feet. White bass catches between 10-12 inches are fair on crappie jigs, trolling crankbaits and some schooling action around the lake. Catfish are good with catches up to 5 pounds on prepared bait at baited holes.

GRANBURY

GOOD. Water stained; 87 degrees; 0.27 feet below pool. Granbury water temperatures are in the upper 80s to low 90s and the water level is normal. A thermocline is present 15-22 feet down. Striped bass continue to be fair to good to 12 pounds on live bait on the lower ends. Sand bass are schooling on several areas of the lake with some good reports coming from Indian Harbor, the Shores and near Decordova subdivision. Crappie are good on small jigs and minnows and are being caught mid-lake on submerged timber with some good reports coming from around Water’s Edge. Catfish are active and best at night on cut and prepared baits. Some big blue catfish are being caught on the upper ends. Largemouth bass are reported as slow to fair on crankbaits and soft plastics fished near creek entrances and near shaded docks. Some good largemouth reports are coming from the river near Tin Top.

POSSUM KINGDOM GOOD. Water stained; 88 degrees; 0.20 feet below pool. Striper are fair to good in 30-70 feet of water. Live bait is still consistently putting fish in the boat, but white and silver spoons are putting a few fish in the boat. Downriggers are not catching fish at the moment with guys trolling all day and only catching 1-3 fish. Sand bass are still slow in 20-30 feet of water with live shad, small slabs. and jigs in white, and silver.

PROCTOR

SLOW. Water stained; 85 degrees; 3.14 feet below pool. Fishing is slow for all species. Catfish are slow but can be caught from the bank on punch bait, in deep with cut bait, or on jug lines.

WEATHERFORD

FAIR. Water heavily stained; 88 degrees; 2.25 feet below pool. Triple digits in the forecast, so fish early in the morning or late in the afternoon when the fish are more active. Catfish are fair along the rocks with cut bait and shad. Crappie are fair to good on rocks and points on minnows. Bass are slow on deeper water ledges with crankbaits and soft plastics.
