Dublin lifts to gold, silver at Rising Star

The Dublin powerlifting girls and boys started the season strong by taking the gold and silver respectively at the Rising Star Powerlifting meet Saturday.

Andrea Rosales won the Outstanding Lifter Award for her platform after finishing first in the 181, lifting 155 pounds in squat, 115 in bench press and 225 in dead lift.

Also the girls earn the first place finish were:

■ Lucero, Marques, firs in the 123 with 435 pounds lifted (175 in squat, 85 in bench, 175 in dead lift)

■ Mackenzie Taff, second in the 123 with 400 pounds lifted (135 in squat, 80 in bench 185 in dead lift)

■ Carla DeLa Cruz (first in the 165 with 425 pounds lifted (155 in squat, 75 in bench, 195 in dead lift)

Dublin boys earned the silver thanks to the following finishes:

■ Cameron Patton, first in the 132 with 750 pounds lifted (260 in squat, 205 in bench, 285 in dead lift)

■ Adam Spharler, second in the 132 with 655 pounds lifted (240 in squat, 145 in bench press, 270 in dead lift)

■ Eli Gonzalez, first in the 148 with 900 pounds lifted (345 in squat, 200 in bench press, 355 in dead lift)

■ Jaydyn Gonzalez, second in the 198 with 655 pounds lifted (240 in squat, 185 in bench, 230 in dead lift)

■ Eddie Hernandez, first in the super heavy weight class with 990 pounds lifted (365 in squat, 250 in bench, 375 in dead lift)
