The school year is off to a fantastic start at Dublin Intermediate! Students across our campus are already showing growth and excitement for learning. Our 6th graders are enjoying new opportunities in Beginner Band and Pre-Athletics, while our 4th and 5th graders will learn to play the ukulele and recorder later in the school year. We are proud to see our students discovering new talents and interests. In addition, Mrs. Goodwin and our SROs recently led an important lesson on the dangers of drugs and alcohol, helping our students make safe and healthy choices.

Looking ahead, Homecoming week is here! All campuses will come together for the Community Pep Rally on Friday, September 26, at 2:00 p.m. Students with perfect attendance (notes were sent home Wednesday) will also get to experience the exciting tradition of running through the lion head with the Varsity Dublin Lions during Friday night’s game.

Over the next two weeks, teachers will be conducting annual parent conferences. Parents, please check your child’s bag for their conference note and scheduled time. These meetings provide valuable insight into your child’s reading and math levels, as well as other important information to support student success.

Mark your calendars for our Fall Festival on Thursday, October 3! This event, hosted by PTO in partnership with our teachers, promises fun for the whole family with over 30 booths, jump houses, a mechanical bull, food trucks, vendors, and photo opportunities. Parents, we kindly ask that each student bring one bag of candy (no chocolate, please) to their homeroom teacher. Each donation will enter your child into a homeroom drawing for a free PTO wristband!

Also on October 3, students will show their school spirit during our next House Meeting. Be sure your child dresses in their house colors as teams compete in fun and engaging activities. At the end, one house will be named the winner based on points earned through grades, citizenship, and participation.

As we wrap up the first six weeks, I am amazed at how quickly the year is moving. It has been such a joy to see our students working hard and “Growin’ for Gold.” Be sure to ask your child about the stickers they receive to celebrate their growth— students love earning and sharing them!

It has been an incredible start, and I know the best is yet to come. Thank you for your continued support of Dublin Intermediate and our students. Together, we are building a year full of learning, growth, and memories to last a lifetime!
