DHS lifters claim more medals

The Dublin Lion and Lady Lion powerlifting teams both claimed third place at the Comanche invitational meet on Thursday, Feb. 8.

Leading the way for the Dublin teams were first place finishers:ww ■ Gonzalo Ortiz in the boys 114 pound weight class with a total lift of 735 pounds (275 squat, 180 bench and 280 dead lift)

■ Cassidy Adair in the girls 198 with a total of 835 (325 squat, 205 bench and 305 dead lift) Claiming second place in their divisions were: ■ Alonso Moreno in the boys 165 with a total of 1190 (490 squat, 240 bench and 460 dead lift)

■ Emmanuel Ramirez in the boys 198 with a total of 1265 (485 squat, 305 bench and 475 dead lift)

■ Karyna Lopez in the girls 198 with a total of 795 (300 squat, 325 bench and 270 dead lift)

■ Frida Villicana in the girls 242 with a total of 670 (290 squat, 135 bench and 245 dead lift) Also contributing to the teams’ third place finishes were: ■ Samantha Martinez, 3rd in the girls 97 with a total of 325 (120 bench, 45 bench and 160 dead lift)

■ Jaylie Williams, 3rd in the girls 132 with a total of 565 (225 squat, 80 bench and 260 dead lift)

■ Yovany Ortiz, 4th in the boys 114 with a total of 650 (240 squat, 160 bench and 250 dead lift)

■ Jennifer Garcia, 4th in the girls 97 with a total of 290 (105 squat, 50 bench and 135 dead lift) ■ Andrea Rosalez, 4th in the girls 181 with a total of 705 (285 squat, 145 bench and

275 dead lift)

■ Paul Adams, 5th in the boys

114 with a total of 580 (235 squat, 115 bench and 230 dead lift)

■ Lucas Azua, 5th in the boys

165 with a total of 1125 (465 squat, 275 bench and
