Dublin High School golf started out its season with some new faces as they teed off at Coleman Feb. 22-23.
Newcomer Hayden Millburn came in the lowest for Dublin with 109 strokes followed by Bailey Watson and Dane Lewis with 111 and 112 respectively. Fellow newcomer Jace Mendez logged 131.
Dublin head gold coach Wes Grisham reported Millburn and Menez took to the game quickly. “Both started to figure out their swing and built some confidence,” said Grisham.
“Dane Lewis seemed like his swing had really improved since last year,” he added. “You could tell he’s been playing some.”
Jennave Villaro also joined the team, playing for the first time.
“[She] did really well considering it was her first tournament,”Grisham said. “She really seemed to enjoy it as the tournament progressed and hit some good shots. Bailey [also] shot well as she got her swing back in rhythm.”
