Cards take runner-up trophy at Perrin

The Lingleville Cardinals took the runner-up trophy at the Perrin-Whitt tournament last week when they fell to the Perrin-Whitt Pirates.

This was depite being down a player for the majority of their three games as Alex Carrizales was out of the first game and at limited capacity in the next two due to a sprained ankle.

“ Having a tournament early in the season really gives us an opportunity to learn from our mistakes,” said Lingleville Athletic Director and Head Boys Basketball Coach Steven Bailey. “I’m proud of my guys but we have a lot to work on to get where we want to be.”

Cardinals Izrael Juarez and Xavier Figueroa were named all-tournament team members.
