The 2021 Dublin Lady Lions faced some setbacks as they started their season with winter weather and rains canceling some of their pre-district games, but the Lady Lions didn’t let a little precipitation hurt their pride.

The girls were 2-2 in district and 7-2-1 overall heading into Tuesday night’s games.

Under the leadership of Coach Tommy Zmeskal, the girls have reportedly shown a lot of willingness to work on the field and off with positive attitude and effort.

The bad weather meant the girls had to hit the ground running for district, but they did so without complaint.

Zmeskal is assisted this year by Andrew Norwood (who is heading up the JV girls team) and Ronny Luedke.

The team is also bolstered by a fairly even spread of classes with six seniors (Evelyn Garcia, Isabel Bustamante, Maelieigh Geijsel, Bryten Ballenger, Leticia Perez and Raychel Head), two juniors, two sophomores and four freshmen, including lead pitcher Kiersten Fincannon. This mix proves a nice mix of experience and potential for this year and years to come.
