Mere minutes decided the end of the Lady Cardinals’ Bi-District playoff bid against Meridian at Dublin on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
As the team rounded into the fourth quarter, the Lady Cards playing as home team, were up 20-19. Energized fans on both sides of the gym filled it with shouts and cheers as the score got tied up 22-22.
Meridian slipped ahead with a two-pointer with only 1:50 left in the game and quickly followed with a three after regaining control of the ball.
The fierce fight continued eliciting shouts from the crowd but as Meridian held the ball in the finals seconds , it ended 31-24 in Meridian’s favor.
The Lady Cards, with six girls on their roster coached by Sheri Sharum, ended their season 5-7 in district.
