The Dublin Lady Lions bested the DeLeon Lady Bearcats 9-8 on the Dublin diamond on Feb. 28.
“The girls fought hard and stayed upbeat and positive through the whole game,” said Lady Lions head softball coach Teryl Dunn. “They were able to come out on top because they pulled together and depended on each other.”
Chloe Cisneroz stayed strong on the mound, scoring 7 strikeouts, 3 walks and 5 earned runs throughout the game.
Emma Vargas and Olivia Salyer led in runs with three each while Libby Turner snagged two and Karyna Lopez got one.
The Lady Lions followed this with a 1-2 appearance in the Venus Tournament.
“We had a great opportunity to work out any situations that we needed to become better at,” said Dunn. “We were able to end the tournament and our predistrict season with a win to give us great momentum going into district.”
