The Dublin High School Powerlifting boys and girls both took silver at the Feb. 18 powerlifting meet in DeLeon.
Finishing first in their respective weight classes were:
Cameron Patton in the boys’ 132 with a personal best total of 1,020 pounds (355 in squat, 285 in bench press and 380 in dead lift)
Madison Turley in the girls’ 132 with a personal best total of 635 (240 in squat, 145 in bench and 250 in dead lift) Bernardo Ortega in the boys’ 198 with a personal best total of 1,265 (465 in squat, 325 in bench and 475 in dead lift)
Also placing and adding to the second place finishes were:
Gonzalo Ortiz, 2nd in the boys’ 114 with a total of 640 (245 in squat, 160 in bench and 235 in Dead Lift)
Elijah Gonzales, 2nd in the boys’ 165 with a personal best of 1,190 (470 in squat, 265 in bench and 455 in dead lift)
Karyna Lopez, 2nd the girls’ 181 with a personal best of 755 (280 in squat, 205 in bench and 270 in dead lift)
