Dublin lifters place at home

Dublin High School hosted 14 schools and more than 200 athletes during the annual invitational powerlifting meet on Saturday, Jan. 21.

Elijah Gonzales topped Dublin results taking first in the boys’ 165 with a combined 1,180 pounds lifted—460 in squat, 255 in bench press and 465 in dead lift.

Cameron Patton followed closely, snagging silver in the boys’ 132 with a combined lift of 940 pounds—460 in squat, 255 in bench and 465 in dead lift.

Mariana Ortiz also took home some metal, claiming third in the girls’ 198 with a combined lift of 885 pounds—335 in squat, 235 in bench and 315 in dead lift.

Also placing high were: Gonzalo Ortiz, 4th in the boys’ 114 with a total of 605—215 in squat, 145 in bench and 245 in dead lift.

Karyna Lopez, 4th in the girls’ 181 with a total of 645—240 in squat, 145 in bench and 260 in dead lift.

Carla Saucedo, 4th in the girls’ 220 with a combined 705—245 in squat, 165 in bench and 295 in dead lift.

Lucero Marquez, 5th in the girls’ 123 with a combined 500—200 in squat, 110 in bench and 190 in dead lift.

Dublin boys also claimed the following places:

■ Marshall Daniel, 6th in the 148 with a combined 875

■ Jayden Gonzalez, 6th in the 198 with a total of 955

■ Jovani Cervantes, 7th in the 165 with a combined 995

■ Derek Ivey, 7th in the 181 with a combined 990

■ Lucas Azua, 8th in the 165 with a combined 955

Dublin girls also claimed the following places:

■ Cassidy Adair, 6th in the 198 with a combined 610

■ Marivel Alvarez in the girls’ 220 with a combined 550

■ Lizveth Cervantes, 7th in the 114 with a combined 455

■ Kim Rojas, 8th in the girls’ 114 with a combined 380

■ Sandra Vazquez, 10th in the girls’ 123 with a combined 450

■ Summer Anderson, 11th in the girls’ 123 with 370

■ Candy Rodriguez, 12th in the girls’ 148 with a combined 550

■ Jaylee Williams, 16th in the girls’ 132 with a total of 455
