Lingleville Cardinal fans were privy to a fierce battle Friday night as the Cards host the Bryson Cowboys for their district opener.

Despite several Cardinals hitting the sidelines to tend to injuries, the home team stayed in the game until the very end, falling in a narrow 48-46 defeat.

The loss brings Lingleville to 4-2 for the season.

“Unfortunately we got off to a really slow start and a slew of mistakes and injuries to multiple starters really made it difficult to overcome that,” said head Lingleville football coach Trent Taylor.

“Bryson played a terrific game and a lot of credit goes to those boys and coaches from Bryson. We’re doing our best to get healthy and prepare for Baird this week.”
