Lingleville Cardinals coaching staff and players gathered at the school at 8 a.m. Monday as they kicked off practice for the football, volleyball and cross country seasons. This followed a successful inaugural Meet the Cardinal night Sunday which drew around 100 to the school cafeteria for free food and to hear comments from the coaches. On Monday, twenty prospective members of the Lingleville Cardinal six-man football team ran drills at Garner E. Rice Field as they practiced mobility, passing and catching under coaches Trent Taylor and Jacob Bowers. Meanwhile, the Lady Cardinals volleyball team ran laps around the football field as Coach Ty Johnston handed them bands to mark progress (above). Head Coach Steven Bailey delivered a pep talk and pointers to cross country runners (right) before they started a 45-minute run around the football field. Paul Gaudette | Citizen staff photo
