The Dublin community gets a chance to Meet the Lions tonight (Thursday) at 7 p.m. in the Dublin High School Gym.

This community introduction comes as the DHS coaching staff is getting their first chance to see them in action as practices started early Monday with 58 players taking to the Bob and Norma Cervetto Field before 6 a.m.

DISD Athletic Director/ Head Football Coach Greg Hardcastle says the program is showing a lot of promise with 24 freshman showing their skills as they learn the basics and many returners are displaying retention of lessons learned in previous seasons as well as during the recent statequalifying 7-on-7 season.

“We’ve had two great days [of practice],” said Hardcastle late Tuesday morning.

Lions fans will get to see the 2022 players in action during an inter-squad scrimmage Saturday, starting at 8 a.m. on Cervetto Field.

This will give the players some practice time before they take on the Hamilton Bulldogs in an Aug. 12 scrimmage at Hamilton.
